German WWII Iron Cross 1st Class Medal in original case. The obverse features an embossed central, canted, swastika with re-institution date, "1939", to the bottom arm. The swastika is in nice high relief while the date is somewhat lower and the centre retains about 98% of its original black wash. The plain reverse has a solid, soldered hinge and thick tapered vertical pin and a catch all intact. The pin is embossed with L15 manufacturers code in a square recess and the case has an impressed, silvered outline of an Iron Cross to the centre. The first class medal was awarded to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. Also Iron Cross stick pin with embossed central oak leaf. Very good condition.
