1921 Registered cover carried on the First Perth to Derby Aerial Mail to Broome, over franked with a variety of stamps to 1/- value, with Western Australian Airways 1921 Registered cover carried on the First Perth to Derby Aerial Mail to Broome, over franked with a variety of stamps to 1/- value, with Western Australian Airways "Perth Derby Aerial Mail 4 De 21" cachet and Posts and Telegraphs, Broome Violet backstamp. Due to a number of mishaps culminating in one of the 3 planes crashing, resulting in the death of the pilot and a mechanic, the mail was returned to Perth and delivered by the steamer S.S. Bambra. One of the more attractive surviving covers, from what was intended to be Australia's first regular Air Mail service. A.A.M.C. 56a.
