c.1896 6d Grey-Blue Crews & Moorehouse label with faint 'CL MOORHOUSE & Co' [sic] diagonal handstamp in violet. Only two other examples, also with the h/s are recorded and Dave Elsmore has confirmed this is a third copy. Extract from Dave Elsmore online catalogue states [On March 25 1895 Mr.F. Crews left Port Adelaide for the West, where he and Mr.L. Moorehouse opened up a carrying business. Trading as 'Perth & Suburban Parcels Express', This venture was short lived existing only 14 months and by 10th May 1896 F. Crews was bought out and existing stamps were overprinted 'C.L. Moorehouse & Co.' C.L. Moorehouse being the son of L. Moorehouse]. The most recent sale of this label bought $1,900.00, plus buyers premium in May, 2013.
