1869 OHMS cover stamped with 2d Orange-Red Queen Victorian roulette Departmental O/P E. in Blue, tied by GPO Adelaide broken ring CDS postmark dated De 6, 1869, addressed to Port Adelaide, with Port Adelaide backstamp. Minor fault at base, but in better condition and more attractive than most Departmental covers. Rated RR by Butler, who states no covers are known, Presgrave lists a 2d E cover with Red overprint, this new discovery is a second. One of the 8 known covers with a Blue Departmental overprint. Cover is a little tatty and folded at left with staining. Presgrave notes 3 covers, this is a new discovery and the only one franked with a 6d value.
